Douglas Ahlstedt partners
with junior and senior high school music teachers, and university
professors, to interpret a wide range of music for students in the
classroom. His attention to form, style, multi-lingual diction and
history provide accurate interpretation of classic works, and a
solid basis for modern improvisation. In-school performances include
mini-recitals, master classes and music workshops in:
- opera
- operetta
- musical theater
- musical comedy
- the art song
Mr. Ahlstedt has performed
in partnership with Young Audiences of Rochester, New York, since
1988, serving the artistic needs of schools ranging from the elementary
through university levels.

Mr. Ahlstedt performs
as a guest vocalist and speaker at opera guild and music society
meetings, and music educator conferences. These have included the
Pittsburgh Opera Guilds, Pennsylvania State Music Teachers Conference,
Maryland State Music Teachers Conference and New York State Music
Teachers Conference.
